
Marta Pino Moreno is a linguist and translator with wide-ranging and highly regarded professional experience. She worked for five years (1995-2000) at the Real Academia Española (the Spanish Royal Academy), where she was in charge of encoding processes of the CREA and CORDE language corpora. She then obtained her PhD in Hispanic Philology at Universidad de Santiago (2000) with Doctor Europaeus Mention and embarked on her career as a literary translator. She went on to complete a Bachelor’s Degree in Translation and Interpreting at Universitat Pompeu Fabra in 2003. In 2007 she obtained the Certified Translator and Interpreter qualification awarded by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and set up her own company, QCS.
At the same time, she taught courses and classes at various institutions (Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Fundación Duques de Soria, Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Aula Escola Europea) and took part in congresses, lectures and round table discussions in many Spanish and foreign centres. She has published a number of linguistics research papers and more than a hundred translations for leading publishers and museums.
She currently works as a freelance linguist and translator at the Technology Park of Galicia in Ourense (Spain), while providing language services from her offices in Barcelona and Madrid. She works for international organizations and companies throughout the world.
